Whether you’re visiting the museum for the first time or the hundredth, there is always something to learn. Our Family Guides help you get the most from your visit.

Stumped by a question your five year old just asked? Explore the artworks throughout the Akron Art Museum with a backpack full of hands-on activities. Fun for all ages, the activities allow you and your family to tell stories, write poems, make mismatched portraits, imaginary sculptures and work together to find out more about the art. Simply stop by the Visitor Services desk to pick up you Akron Art Museum backpack.

Family Drop-ins

Between work, school, soccer practice and dance classes, families are busier than ever. Family Drop-In Days at the Akron Art Museum bring your family back together with exciting activities that allow you all to explore your creative side.

Classes

Children join the museum’s educators to explore artworks and ideas in the galleries and art-making in the classroom.

Third Thursday

Visitors receive free admission to the collection and exhibition galleries all day, on the third Thursday of the month.

ArtCamp@Dusk

Children 7 – 12 years old will explore all kinds of fun, wacky and hands-on art activities in the museum’s classroom. Free for member and $5 per session for nonmembers. Space is limited to 20 children.
