Teen Council

About Us

The Akron Art Museum Teen Council is a group of 15-20 high school students from Northeast Ohio. Participants gain exposure to new and exciting developments and career opportunities in the art world, including first-hand experience with art production and management. The goals of the Akron Art Museum Teen Council are:

  • Develop connections between Akron Art Museum programs, staff and local teens.
  • Prepare area teens for 21st century careers in arts production and administration.
  • Foster connections between area teens and the community through arts-centered activities and programs.
  • Bring together a diverse group of teens to encourage tolerance for personal differences and the sharing of experiences, viewpoints personal tastes and aesthetics.
