Volunteer

Traditional volunteers are an integral part of the Akron Art Museum. Although there are currently limited volunteer opportunities, applications are accepted at all times. We keep all applications on our waiting list, and will contact applicants with the required skills, interests, and availability for interviews as volunteer positions become available.

Qualified candidates should possess a love and appreciation of art, a flexible attitude for dealing effectively with the public, basic computer skills—including familiarity with the Internet—and an understanding that reliability is critical.

Volunteer Positions

Retail Store Assistants
Retail assistants sell museum related merchandise and memberships.

Education Projects
Help with children's activities, art demonstrations and workshops, Downtown@Dusk concerts, lectures, films and more.

Membership Events and Recruitment
Help with Members Only! events and recruit the community to join the growing Akron Art Museum membership.

Special Fundraising Events
Enjoy involvement in such events as the Akron Wine Auction; volunteers in this area help to continue the tradition of community support.

Preview Parties
Volunteer during exhibition openings and other special events; this is an exciting evening or weekend opportunity.

If you are interested in volunteering, download a volunteer form and submit it to the Membership Manager. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
