Learn how preservation and restoration of our historic properties, public parks and private properties create vibrant communities.

Author Marta McDowell will use her latest book, All the President's Gardens, to examine research methods for a historic property. Sherry Hall, Director of the Harding Home, Marion, OH will discuss planning the restoration of Mrs. Harding's Garden. Marianne Salas, Chairman of the Garden History and Design Committee of the Garden Club of America will demonstrate the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of American Gardens. "Muddy Boots" brings a computer generated program to design, document and create labels for plants.

Discussion groups will highlight various aspects of preserving, restoring and replicating properties over box lunches in the Bud and Susie Rogers Garden.

6 p.m. - Arrive at Hale Farm & Village for cocktails and a tour of the village with Jason Klein, followed by dinner at the Gatehouse

9 a.m. - Choose from: Kathie VanDevere, Partners for Plants: Riparian Reforestation Project at Cuyahoga Valley National Park OR Leianne Heppner and Inga Walker at Cuyahoga Valley National Park Conservancy Farm on Rte 303 in Peninsula
10 a.m. - Arrive at Hudson Town Hall on the Village Green; Hudson Heritage Association, Tour the Fire History Museum; Tom Vince, tour of Village Trolley.
12 p.m. - Box Lunch at Village Square with informal self-select discussions
1 p.m. - Tom Vince, Western Reserve Academy Archivist will give a walking tour of the school
