From 2:00 to 5:00 pm the museum plans a milk-and-cookies snack time for older children, complete with an Ed Emberley-style retelling of The Little Red Hen.

FAMILY DAY

3 – 5 P.M.
Families work together to help each other out like the characters in Ed Emberley’s retelling of the classic folk tale, The Little Red Hen. Celebrate your family unit with cookies from Main Street Gourmet, prop design and art-making, and an interactive storytelling experience by Kyle Jozsa of Wandering Aesthetics.

Akron Art Museum’s Family Day events are designed for children aged 0-12. Siblings are welcome. Adults must be accompanied by a child. Registration is required. Click the link / button below to register online.

Babyfest '18!

Calling All Babies! Celebrate the joys of babyhood during the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) Week of the Young Child. Meet up with other babies for an engaging afternoon of color-seeking, mess-making and creative movement.

Babies at different stages have their own perspectives on art. Awaken your little one's curiosity with early learning experiences involving color, texture, light and sound while singing and bouncing to the beat in the galleries. Meet-up for a pint-sized play date and baby approved art activity in our multi-sensory studio classroom.

Get a tour of Ed Emberley Better You Than Me from the perspective of a local illustrator. Myers School of Art Associate Professor of Graphic Design David Szalay will walk tour attendees through the exhibition, discussing some of the fine details of Emberley’s work along with some juicy picture book publishing insider information.
