Art Talk & Tour: Jade Dellinger: The Moon Museum

The Moon Museum may sound like science fiction, but it’s true: Six artists and their unidentified collaborator snuck a minuscule artwork on the moon! Featuring imagery by Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg and Robert Rauschenberg, The Moon Museum is a tiny wafer made in a small edition, stowed away on the Apollo 12 moon lander. Come hear the epic tale and celebrate the opening of The Distance of the Moon with a first look tour.

Free and open to the public. Registration required for tour following the Moon Museum presentation.

The Moon Museum, featuring works by Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Forrest Myers, David Novros and John Chamberlain, 1969, lithograph of tantalum nitride film on ceramic wafer, 9/16 × 3/4 in., Fabricated by Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, New Jersey, Photograph by Jade Dellinger, Courtesy Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida Southwestern State College, Fort Myers, Florida
