Connect with Dot, your new AAM digital tour guide.

Whether you're here solo or with friends or family, Dot will lead you through the galleries and give you fun opportunities to explore the art on display while you connect with friends or family, or learn something new about yourself. It all happens through your smartphone. Just connect with Dot on Facebook Messenger and she’ll lead the way:
  1. Connect to the museum's WiFi at Akron Art Guest (password is onehighst)
  2. Click on the Messenger app on your phone
  3. Type AAM Dot into the search field
  4. Tap Dot's picture and the Get Started button and you are on your way

Tell a Tale of Dread & Delight: A Storytelling Workshop

Recommended for families and kids (up to age 17)

Let your imagination take flight in an artfully concocted tale of dread and delight. Take a page right out of the Dread and Delight: Fairy Tales in an Anxious World exhibition during this storytelling workshop designed for anyone with a desire to tell a tale. Guided by Teaching Artist, Kyle Jozsa, of Wandering Aesthetics, participants explore once familiar fairytales with a “reassembled” approach to creating their own unique story.

Complimentary admission for members and children (age 17 and under), $10/nonmember adult. *Registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Soy Wax Resist with Praxis Fiber Workshop

Try your hand at batik, a technique of wax-resist dyeing used by Akron Art Library collection artist Christi Birchfield. In this all-day workshop with Praxis we will explore the use of soy wax as a resist on fabric to create layered designs in easy to do steps. Participants will work with fabric dyes to establish a color palette and will make or use found objects for stamping into the fabric using soy wax. All materials provided with registration fee.

$15/members, $20/nonmembers.

Registration required. Only 10 spots available!

*** Please note this is an all-day workshop. Lunch on your own, light refreshments provided.
