You’ll discover treasures, hunt for clues and see the world in a whole new way—without the hassle of packing a suitcase! Adventure tours include a 30-minute gallery experience and a 30-minute hands-on experience in the museum’s Summer Studio space.

Free and Open to All

Celebrate the opening of the Planes, Trains & Automobiles exhibition. Be among the first to experience Isla Hansen’s interactive sculpture Aeromorphiscope. Create transportation-inspired prints using train tracks and race cars and construct your own artistic paper airplane. Don’t forget to grab your suitcase and take a trip with Kyle of Wandering Aesthetics as he shares his best travel stories.

Live Creative Summer Studio

August 2018

Tuesday through Friday • 11 am – 4 pm
June 5 – August 24

Unplug and make lasting memories together without worrying about the calendar! Play and explore a variety of art-making techniques and materials as you spend time with your family in the museum’s Live Creative Summer Studio. Drop in and create masterpieces and memories.

No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free for members and all children (age 17 and under with an adult) every day. Regular admission applies to nonmember adults Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with the exception of Free Thursdays when admission is free to all.

All aboard for cruise creative! Join a museum educator on a tour mapped out for our youngest members, birth to 12 months of age, with a caregiver. Bring your curious little traveler in a hands-free baby carrier or stroller to encourage closer looking and listening, with creative destinations specially charted for baby’s budding curiosity and visual stimulation. While babies are soaking up the color and shapes, adults learn intriguing tidbits about the artists’ own family life, upbringing and early creative influences that made them who they are today.

Exclusive for Museum Members.
Tour group size is limited. Baby-wearing apparel or stroller is a prerequisite for participation.

Arts experiences boost critical thinking skills which help children relate to others and understand their world. Kick start your child’s school year with artful approaches to math and science concepts, early literacy and creative movement. Special guest: Dr. U.R. Awesome! Skilled bubbleologist and World Record holder for largest outdoor soap bubbles will perform from 11:30 am – 12 pm.

Family Day events are designed for children ages 0-12, with an adult caretaker. Event-related activities are free. Admission to the galleries is also free for adult members and ALL children (age 17 and under with an adult). Regular admission applies to non-member adults.
