Biographical Highlights of Frank N. Wilcox:

1906-1910:  Wilcox studies and graduates from Cleveland School of Art having studied with Henry Keller, Frederick Gottwald, and Louis Rorimer, among others
1910, 1914, 1926:  Studies art in Europe
1911: Exhibits at the Paris Autumn Salon
1913: Wilcox exhibits at the Taylor Gallery Show, Cleveland's response NYC's Armory Show of this year; Wilcox was also an active member of the Kokoon Club, Cleveland's bohemian artists' group
1913-1957: Wilcox instructs drawing, painting, and printmaking at the Cleveland School of Art; some of his star students: Paul Travis, Carl Gaertner, and Charles Burchfield
1918-1953: Wilcox teaches evening art classes at John Huntington Polytechnic Institute
1919-1941: Wilcox appears in 22 of the Cleveland Museum of Art's "May Shows" since the show's inauguration in 1919.
1933: Wilcox writes and illustrates "Ohio Indian Trails"
1949: Wilcox writes and illustrates "Weather Wisdom"
1957-1964: Wilcox teaches part-time in his retirment years at Baldwin-Wallace College in Cleveland, receiving an honorary doctorate from BWC as one of their "favorite sons"
   Wilcox spent many years traveling on painting and sketching junkets; he visited numerous places in the United States taking in a variety of vistas, landscapes, and environments to help inspire his compositions.
