Pattern ID Exhibition to Travel

For Release: September 2010

Akron, Ohio, September 13, 2010 — The Akron Art Museum is proud to announce the popular exhibition Pattern ID will be traveling to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, MO. Pattern ID is scheduled to open at its new site on February 11, 2011 and run through May 8, 2011.

“The Kemper is a wonderful institution with an excellent exhibition program, and we are thrilled that audiences in the Kansas City area will have the opportunity to enjoy Pattern ID,” said Ellen Rudolph, curator of exhibitions at the Akron Art Museum. “All of the artists and private collectors who contributed to the show have very generously extended their loan of the art to allow for this new venue.”

The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art’s permanent collection features modern and contemporary artists including Helen Frankenthaler, Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg, Willem de Kooning and Red Grooms, as well as many others. The Kemper hosts approximately 8 to 12 exhibitions a year, and staff members at the Akron Art Museum are pleased that Pattern ID will be one of next year’s shows.

The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and Akron Art Museum are both North American Reciprocal Museums.
