Third Annual Island of Misfit Toys Workshop Gives Old Toys New Life
For Release: December 2008
Akron, Ohio — Families can expect a twisted take on traditional holiday activities at the Akron Art Museum’s Third Annual Island of Misfit Toys Workshop Saturday, December 13, 2008.
From 12 – 3 pm, families will transform old toys — Barbies, Hot Wheels, Slinkies, whatever! — into one-of-a-kind creations at this fun family drop-in event. Toys will be provided. You may bring toys from home, although it is not required. At 2:30 pm, in the Charles and Jane Lehner Auditorium, interactive theater group Random Acts will perform What the Dickens? The Ghosts of Christmas!, a laugh-out-loud, kid-friendly musical where audience members become part of the play.
All activities and performances are FREE to children ages 12 and under. The museum is also offering a BOGO special — gallery admission will be buy-one-get-one-free for adults accompanying children ages 12 and under, or half-price adult admission. Check the museum’s calendar online at www.AkronArtMuseum.org or call 330.376.9186 x230 for more details.
