Richard P. Lewis

Richard P. Lewis is best known for his large format portrait and landscape contact prints created with home-made cameras. Lewis graduated from Reed College in Seattle, but did not take up photography until after he finished school. In 1994 the artist co-founded FotoCircle, a non-commercial gallery in downtown Seattle that closed in 2002. He has taught photography and the history of photography at Seattle University, Cornish College of the Arts and the Photographic Center Northwest. Lewis has exhibited his work extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest.
