As an Akron native, I take pride in backing local organizations that contribute to the city’s greatness. The Akron Art Museum offers a diverse range of art forms and engaging activities for adults and children in our community to enjoy. I wanted to ensure that our employees have the opportunity to benefit from these offerings. Are particular works in the collection special to you?
I really enjoy Viola Frey’s The World and the Woman. It’s a strikingly large piece that commands attention at the gallery’s entrance. The visual of having the depiction of a powerful woman as one of the first artworks you encounter is particularly captivating and sets a dynamic tone for the entire space.
Share a favorite story or memory about the Akron
Art Museum.
Through a fundraiser, my family had the opportunity to enjoy a Cocktails with the Curator event. It was an enlightening experience to delve into the specifics of various artworks on display and understand the curator’s selection process. We thoroughly enjoyed the event, sparking a newfound desire to visit the Museum more frequently. Just recently, I had the pleasure of attending a yoga class in the galleries with my four sisters—a delightful way to spend a Sunday morning!
