Jonathan Anderson and Edwin Low met while sharing a darkroom in London. Since 1990, the duo has worked together on a broad range of photographic projects addressing portraiture, architecture and nudes. Their most widely known work depicts aspects of sport and the lives of athletes and performers. Champions, a series of black and white portraits of athletes, was a charitable project to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation and raise awareness of the global issue of HIV/AIDS. That series debuted at London’s National Portrait Gallery and traveled internationally. Anderson & Low’s work is in the collections of the Tate Modern, Victoria & Albert Museum, the National Portrait Gallery (London), National Portrait Gallery (Australia), Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and High Museum of Art. Six books of their photographs have been published.
