Amber Stucke

Amber Stucke is an artist, writer, and naturalist who fluidly moves between artistic and scientific research. Through intricate use of writing, sound, performance, installations, drawings, scientific prints, and artist books, she addresses research interests including symbiotic and rhizomatic relationships, Native American ethnobotany, plant-human relationships, evolutionary biology, the philosophy of consciousness, and the appropriation of visual scientific classification structures.1 Stucke earned her BFA from Barat College in Lake Forest, IL (2002) and her MFA from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco (2011). She also studied at Goldsmith’s College in London (2001) and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2000).
