Erik Neff earned degrees in biology and entomology from The Ohio State University before attending the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he studied painting under Julian Stanczak and graduated with a BFA in 1991. He earned an MFA from Bard College in 1995. Neff taught as an adjunct professor at CIA from 1996 to 2006. He has exhibited his work at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, Spaces in Cleveland, the McDonough Museum in Youngstown, and 55 Mercer Gallery and the Elizabeth Harris Gallery in New York.
