19-teens: Studies art at Cleveland School of Art, and in Paris and Vienna; active member of the Kokoon Club, Cleveland's bohemian artists' group founded in 1913
1928: Wins California Print Maker's Silver Medal for lithography
1932-36: Member of Cleveland's Print-A-Month Club
1934: Wins first prize for Cleveland Museum of Art's "May Show"
1935-1940: Works on the Graphics Division of the WPA/FPA in NYC
1940-1975: Teaches painting at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT
1941: Illustrates "But Once a Year" for the American Artists Group
1942: Writes and Illustrates "American Trees"
Limbach was also an essayist, as well as color lithographer, contributing to such works as the "Daily Worker" Communist newspaper and a volume of essays discussing the WPA Federal Art Project
