Gertrude Morgan

Morgan spent much of her life as a street preacher with the “Holiness and Sanctified” denomination in New Orleans. She adopted the title “Sister” during the early 1940s when she became affiliated with two other street missionaries. Morgan turned to art in 1956, producing religious scenes which were sold to pay the rent on a mission the three sisters operated.
