Benjamin J. Falk

B.J. Falk's studio was located at 949 Broadway. He also had a studio at 13 and 15 West 24th St., Madison Square (c. 1896) He also had a branch office in Sydney, Australia in the 1890s. Falk, in 1883, was the first photographer to take theatrical photographs on actual stages. In addition to the stars of the New York stage, he made celebrity "cigarette cards" and photographed President Theodore Roosevelt, and the famous body buiilder "Sandow." Falk was the 5th president fo the "Professional Photographers' Society of New York State" in 1913.
