Charles Harbut was a photojournalist and teacher who influnced generations of photographers at Parsons School of Art, NY where here taught for over tweny years. Harbutt was a member and twice president of the photo agency Magnum. His images appeared in Life, Look, Paris-Match, Newsweek, Fortune, National Geographic and The New York Times Magazine, among other publications Harbutt was married to photographer Joan Liftin, who is also in our collection.
