Sara Facio

Sara Facio, who began her career as a teacher of painting and drawing, received her first camera in 1955. After photographing independently, she studied the medium in the studios of Luis d'Amico (1957-59) and Annemarie Heinrich (1960). She became partners with Alicia d'Amico in a commercial photography studio producing advertising, news photos and portraits; it operated from 1960-1986. Facio is one of only a few contemporary Argentinean photographers whose work is known internationally.
