Cuyahoga Valley National Park has been described a “green-shrouded miracle.” In this image a tiny flowering plant called duckweed covers a small wetland. The tracks through the green pond weed indicate the presence of animals through the trails they made when they swam, paddled, or walked through the water. Wetlands like this provide habitat for frogs and other amphibians, turtles, and snakes. The bigger tracks may be from a longer legged creature like a great blue heron.
