More Information

The real Trestle, located near the Albuquerque International Airport, simulates electromagnetic pulses similar to those experienced in a nuclear blast. It is large enough to hold the nation’s largest military aircraft. An article in the local newspaper about owls nesting in the Trestle inspired this photograph. Nagatani built his metal reproduction of the Trestle out of an erector set given to him by his father. The eerie violet light suggests an unnatural occurrence.
