“I had this image of a man holding a box, and I found that the way he framed himself—like a television set—was very meaningful,” says Meyer. “However, only half the frame worked for me.” Combining that image with one of a wall covered with religious icons, “the man became an icon in a television set. By bringing the Devil into the TV (many refer to the television as ‘bringing the Devil into one’s home’), I drew a further connection between the man, the television and the icons.”
