More Information

Calaway’s sculpture suggests a miniature table or chair, yet the artist stops just shy of producing a definitively recognizable or functional object. The work’s inability to serve as furniture—owing in part to its small scale—places it in a sort of limbo where the distinction between fine art and utilitarian object remains unclear.
