Located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, the ruins at Tulum are the remains of a walled Mayan city that thrived between the 13th and 15th centuries. Unlike most of Bridges’ photographs, Caribbean Sea Tulum does not actually depict the ruins themselves, but rather a stretch of coast with thatched huts and a pair of fishing boats just south of the ruins.
