Her smile charms the birds to sing from the trees. Her pleasure in life is to cook delicacies like makdous (oil cured baby eggplants) for her children. Wissam has been a widow for a decade which is the cause of her sadness. When her son Nadim plays on the drums, Wissam moves her hips and dances like a spirit sprung from containment – too long alone.
