Upcoming Event Summit County Health Department Student Art Show: Take Down Tobacco 2025

Summit County Public Health has partnered with the Akron Art Museum and area schools for the “Take Down Tobacco Day of Action.” Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventative death in the United States. Nearly 90% of adult smokers start smoking by the age 18, a time when the body and brain are especially vulnerable to addiction. This year, students are standing up and speaking out against Big Tobacco through the power of art! Join us for a student art show, depicting the harms of tobacco and the feelings of being targeted by advertisements. Come for a light reception in the Museum’s lobby where you can view the artworks, meet the student artists, and enjoy light refreshments. FREE.
