Stephen Tomasko’s Fairgrounds

Downtown@Dusk: Robin Stone
The Akron Art Museum’s popular concert series Downtown@Dusk will continue on Thursday, June 27 from 6:30-8:30 pm with a performance from singer Robin Stone. Concert goers can also enjoy a sneak preview of the upcoming exhibition With a Trace: Photographs of Absence from Senior Curator Ellen Rudolph and food from Urban Eats while kids are entertained and educated by fun hands-on activities during ArtCamp@Dusk in the museum’s classroom. Photographic Masks from the Collection

The Q Is Blue!

However if you are Vincent van Gogh, who one vision expert believes suffered from “protanopia,” the Q would appear to be blue. The Chromatic Vision Simulator app for iOS/Android was developed by Japanese vision expert, Kazunori Asad. Congratulations to Barbara Hacha, who’s photograph First Light won the Akron Art Museum’s Share Your Landscape contest. Thank you to all who submitted your favorite landscapes. Here’s what Barbara had to say about First Light, “…is a photograph I took at dawn from the basket of a hot air balloon as we were ascending near the Sangre Crista mountains near Albuquerque, NM. It was absolutely quiet, except for the intermittent sound of the burner firing and the yips of coyotes below.”
