AKRON, OH – The Akron Art Museum proudly announces Sapphire Young as the Akron Art Museum’s new Director of People and Culture.
The Director of People and Culture oversees the overall function and strategic direction of the Human Resources department at the Akron Art Museum and serves on the organization’s Leadership Team. The director is responsible for developing and ensuring effective implementation of plans including systems, policies, and processes to support the organization’s culture, talent acquisition, talent retention, training and development, team engagement and relations, legal compliance and recordkeeping, compensation, and benefits. The Director of People and Culture reports to the John S. Knight Director and CEO.
Sapphire brings a decade of experience with a proven track record of leading HR teams and projects, coaching, consulting, training, and facilitating growth and development within organizations. She has worked for Fortune 500 and international companies across various industries including utilities, chemical and wood manufacturing, and data center cooling technology.
