Amy Stein

Stein is a photographer and teacher based in Los Angeles. Her work explores our evolving isolation from community, culture, and the environment. Stein was raised in Washington, DC, and Karachi, Pakistan. She holds a B.S. in Political Science from James Madison University, an M.P.S. in Political Science from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her work has been acquired by many private and public collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, Illinois, Portland Art Museum, Oregon, and Light Work Permanent Collection, Syracuse, New York.
