Inspired by Claes Oldenburg’s Inverted Q, one of the Akron Art Museum’s most recognizable works of art, The Queue recognizes supporters who help move the Museum forward. Originally conceived as a tribute to Akron’s rubber heritage, Inverted Q stands as a symbol of innovation, transformation, and Akron’s enduring spirit of possibility.

The Queue celebrates individuals whose philanthropic investments help bring transformative projects, bold ideas, and future initiatives to life. Whether supporting new spaces, educational opportunities, community engagement, exhibitions, campus improvements, or long-term sustainability, members of The Queue are helping shape what comes next for the Akron Art Museum.

The reopening of the renovated 1899 Building in September 2026 serves as the inaugural milestone celebrated by The Queue, recognizing the supporters helping launch the Museum’s next century.
