Artie Vierkant’s work explores the shifting boundaries between digital and physical realities in our increasingly networked world. His multidisciplinary practice spans photography, sculpture, installation, and digital media, consistently challenging ideas of authorship, objecthood, and representation in the digital age.
Vierkant is known for his series “Image Objects” (2011–ongoing), in which he creates abstract compositions digitally, fabricates them as UV prints on Dibond (a lightweight aluminum composite), photographs these physical works, and then digitally alters the resulting images, creating new versions that exist only in digital space. The process blurs the line between the “original” artwork and its representation, questioning which version holds authenticity in a culture of endless digital reproduction.
His work has been exhibited internationally including at the New Museum in New York, the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
