Kate Budd

Kate Budd was raised in eastern Scotland and earned her BA in Fine Art at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. After receiving her MFA in sculpture from Southern Illinois University in 1995, Budd taught at the University of Texas in Austin for three years. She subsequently joined the faculty at the University of Akron, where she is Associate Professor of Art at the Myers School of Art. In addition to “Waxworks,” one-person exhibitions in which Budd’s work has been featured include “On-Site Ohio,” Akron Art Museum (2000); “Honey,” The College of Wooster Art Museum (2003); and “Talisman,” Olin Gallery, Kenyon College (2011). Budd is a three-time recipient of Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Awards and has work in the collections of Progressive Insurance Casualty Company (Cleveland), Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio) and Process Creative Studios (Cleveland).
