More Information

This painting, which resembles a digital image taken from a weather satellite or telescope, seems to depict a natural phenomenon such as a sun flare exploding in space, but the image’s actual source is unknown. Goldstein further confused its source, which he probably found in a science magazine, by adding geometric elements that make the image appear to be on a strip of film. Contributing to the mysterious, photographic feel of the painting, he applied paint using an airbrush to eliminate any trace of the human hand.
