More Information

The Jewish religion and culture are another of the major themes in the artist's work. This scene of Jacob’s famous dream is Zeldis’s interpretation of the Old Testament story told in Genesis 28:12: He had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
