More Information

Dorset is a county in southwest England, bordered by the English Channel to the south. The “round barrows” of the title refer to the ancient practice of mounding earth over a burial site. These ancient burial mounds contrast with the twentieth-century pylons that cross the horizontal center of the photograph.
