Throughout her career, while working on projects in other media, Robinson has always produced books. Most have been “artist’s books,” one-of-a-kind creations where the physical form of the book and the images and words in it are interdependent. Many of those were produced as gifts for friend and family. The books in this set were the first ones that Robinson made for her only child, Sydney, who died in 1994 at age 27. The project was started during her pregnancy and completed during her son’s first months.
