2020 Objects to be Destroyed, Theresa Bembnister Stella Waitzkin’s passion for secondhand objects inspired her to open a flea market stall in Chilmark, Massachusetts. Her work consists mainly of books cast in translucent resin, which sometimes enclosed papers, photographs or other found objects. Waitzkin, who told the poet Allan Ginsberg that “words are lies,” rendered her books unreadable, forever trapped inside hard resin.
