More Information

“Lysistrata,” a play written by Aristophanes, is an ancient Greek comedy about women’s attempt to end a war by refusing to have sex with men until all fighting ended. Nagatani changes the title character’s name into a masculine form. The women here were photographed separately, cut out and pasted on the background image, then the ensemble was re-photographed. Managed by the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Atomic Museum displays declassified nuclear technology from the 1940s on.
