Puzzles are fun, challenging and timeless gifts for members of all generations and the museum store has several to choose from!
Pomegranate creates intricate and thoughtful 1,000-piece interlocking jigsaw puzzles using high quality photo reproduction and wonderfully intriguing images. Featured in their “Art Piece” puzzles are images created by M.C. Escher, Jackson Pollock, Frank Lloyd Wright, Wayne Thiebaud and Charley Harper.
Also from Pomegranate is an exciting block puzzle featuring six “Stripes” paintings by Gene Davis. Pomegranate block puzzles contain twelve two-inch square blocks that can be repositioned and flipped to create up to six different artworks!

Con Brio Glass Jewelry by Susan Butler celebrates color and the glass art movement started at the Toledo Museum of Art in 1962 by creating versatile designs using flameworking and fused glass techniques. Separate the three-tiered necklace and a strand becomes a bracelet.

Exhibition catalogues are a great way for you to both revisit your favorite exhibitions and share them with friends and family who may have missed them.
Detroit Disassembled: Photographs by Andrew Moore provides vivid reproductions of the images from the popular exhibition of the same name. Named one of the top picks for books in the 2010 New York Times Holiday Gift Guide, it is now in its third printing.
The Penland Book of Glass: Master Classes in Flamework Techniques offers stunning photographs, brilliant essays and systematic lessons from Paul Stankard and his Penland School of Crafts contemporaries.
Ray Turner: Population offers vibrant reproductions of the California artist’s oil paint on glass portraits of a wide cross- section of people from across the country. Included in the exhibition, featured at the museum during the first half of 2012, were portraits of University Park and downtown Akron residents
Pattern ID highlights a trend amongst contemporary artists to use pattern and dress as a language communicating who they are and where they come from. The catalogue features 15 artists of diverse origins who have seized on pattern and dress as powerful visual connectors between themselves, their histories and their audiences and includes work from the museum’s collection.
Also available are two catalogues of the autobiographical photography of Bea Nettles, whose work was on view at the museum earlier this year.

There are endless ways kids can build with this award-winning toy. Little ones (and adults) can design simple or complex structures with this set of interlocking slotted card pieces in five basic shapes. The Museum Store has several different building sets that improve hand-eye coordination and reinforce principles of balance and spatial relationships.

Love yesterday’s Ollin Arm Candy bags? Show off your favorite candy fixation with Ollin Arm Candy Headbands. Using the same technique and materials as the bags, these headbands have no-pull elastic at base of neck to keep them in place.

Ollin Arm Candy bags are created using ancient Mayan techniques, but don’t think these are artifacts! Defective candy wrappers are upcycled to create several styles, including clutches, wristlets, purses and weekenders. It can take up to four thousand wrappers and four days for an artisan to create each tear-free and durable bag.

Small Business Saturday falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and is dedicated to driving sales to small businesses on one of the busiest holiday shopping weekends of the year. This countdown item also comes with an in-store discount.
Some of the most popular products in the museum store, especially during the holiday season, are those that feature Winter Evening. By regional artist Raphael Gleitsmann, this painting – part of the museum’s collection and on view in the McDowell Galleries – documents Akron’s bustling Main Street in the 1930s.Visitors are invited to save 5% off all Winter Evening merchandise. Members will receive this on top of their 10% member discount and are welcome to enjoy complimentary coffee/tea and cookies while shopping in the museum store. While supplies last!
