Akron – The Akron Art Museum is happy to announce that Downtown @ Dusk will be returning virtually this summer. In partnership with The Summit, this year’s series will be streaming on Facebook every Thursday in August, so you won’t miss a note. Grab your favorite local brews, take-out from a restaurant, or get crafty with a DIY picnic to enjoy Downtown @ Dusk from the comfort of home!
The museum is open to visitors but will not be doing programming onsite. There are new health and safety guidelines that the museum will be implementing such as timed-tickets, contactless interactions, and a limited capacity to support social distancing. Continuing to hold programs online will allow for the quality of the programs to remain the same while still following health and safety guidelines for the museum.
Interim Director, Jon Fiume stated, “Downtown @ Dusk is such a great event series for everyone to enjoy and we’re happy to still provide a wonderful summer concert experience during these unprecedented times. Because safety is our highest priority, we believe that conducting Downtown @ Dusk virtually is the most beneficial to our guests and performers this year.”
The concerts will still feature all the musicians you love, with special performances made just for this event. The best news is that since the event won’t be outside, the show will go on with rain, shine, or heatwave! Turn it into a watch party and tune into the concert with friends.
Downtown @ Dusk is a summer concert series offered by the Akron Art Museum that features a diverse group of artists, ranging from Latin Jazz, Funk to R&B, and more! In the past, Downtown @ Dusk has drawn crowds of hundreds to the museum by showcasing an array of talented regional performers.
