The Seine at Andelys

Les Andelys is a small town on the banks of the Seine River in the Normandy region of France and is noted for its medieval fortress ruins, visible in the distance in this image. Soon after graduating from the Cleveland School of Art, Warshawsky moved to France where he perfected an impressionist style. He returned to Ohio often to exhibit his works and conduct classes for area artists (including his friend William Sommer) on his technique of painting with “pure color.”
