Past Event Opening Party – Keith Haring: Against All Odds

Start your Saturday by popping into the Museum for Keith Haring: Against All Odds. Be among the first to see the exhibition and enjoy our grand Opening Party.

The lobby will be decked out with DJ, art activities, prize giveaways, and a cash bar. Pop-Up Exhibition Tours will be offered throughout the day.

The Opening Party this Saturday will include:

• Students from the University of Akron will be leading art activities in the lobby. Create your own Haring-inspired button or add your artist touch to a Haring-inspired community mural project.
• Art collector Tucker Hewes and Museum Curator Dr. Jeff Katzin will discuss the thousands of drawings that Keith Haring created in New York City’s subway stations during the 1980s. RSVPs are required for this discussion due to the limited space.
• Local artist Matt Miller will be in attendance from 12 to 2 PM to talk details about the Keith Haring-inspired mural that he painted with the help of this Thursday’s Sip in the Studio.
• The patio will feature lawn games for those who want to take advantage of the spring weather.
